Hey There!

Hello everyone and welcome to my new blog! On this blog I'm hoping to share with you skills that I feel are lost arts such as embroidery, food preservation, and anything else I feel needs sharing! Hopefully you will stick around to see what is posted next. Hoping to post a new blog each week!

Now, a little bit about myself… I am, what I like to call myself, a grandma in a young person’s body. I love hand stitching, quilting, canning, gardening, reading, and hiking. By trade I am a veterinary technician with a passion for crafting. I have been hand stitching since I was about six years old and got my first sewing machine when I was eight. Since then I have picked up the skill of wool applique, cross stitching, quilting, seamstress work for myself and friends, and many other things. My grandfather was a weaver for many many years and I would spend hours with him while he worked on his loom creating beautiful masterpieces. My grandmother braids intricate wool rugs, rug hooks pieces of multiple sizes, and sews. Every year my grandmother enters her art into the Missouri state fair and she won a blue ribbon for each piece she submitted this year! I definitely owe my craftiness to these two individuals as they taught me so many things from weaving on a small loom, to braiding rugs, purchasing my first sewing machine, and teaching me tips and tricks well into my late twenties.

However, with all the craftiness I have one thing I cannot seem to master is crochet! I would love to be able to crochet but no matter how many times I try and how many books I read or videos I watch I'm still unable to get it to work for me. That's okay though, you can't do everything! Well, I do hope you will stick around to see what comes next. Until next time...
